RE:self assessment form
Hi,
After you have submitted your self assessment tax return for 2023-2024 you should contact our self assesment helpline on 0300 200 3310 or our webchat facility at:
Contact HMRC
You will need to tell them that your income from property ceased in 2023/2024 and that for 2024/2025 onwards, you do not meet self assessment critiera.

RE:Selling inherited property in India - who will HMRC accept as an appropriate valuer?
Hi,
You could use the value of similar properties of the same type at the time your inherited it, perhaps from estate agents or other reputable sources and use a just a reasonable exchange rate in use at the time.
Once all of the required figures are in pounds sterling, you can work out if there is a gain or a loss.
In either case you will need to declare this in a self assessment tax return.
Thank you.
