RE: Error on self assessment
Hi,
If you submitted your tax return online, you can log in and amend the return to show the gain in the box named:
"Total gains or losses on UK residential property reported on Capital Gains Tax UK Property Disposal returns: (optional)" and the tax already paid in the box named:
"Tax on UK residential property gains reported on Capital Gains Tax UK Property Disposal returns already charged: (optional)".
On SA108, you would complete boxes 9 and 10 on page 1.
You can also contact HMRC by using webchat at Self Assessment: general enquiries.

RE: Self assessment for non UK resident
Hi Cabos
It is possible to submit an online tax return, when you are non UK resident or need to submit a SA109.
You need a government gateway user ID and password and 3rd party commercial software, that comes at a cost.
You can register at File your Self Assessment tax return online
and choose a commercial supplier at Self Assessment commercial software suppliers
You complete their tax return that includes the SA109 and then submit it using your government gateway user ID and password.
Submitting your return electronically allows you up to 31 January each year.

RE: Foreign Income
Hi
SA108 supplementary page, is for capital gains tax, including foreign disposals.
SA108 may also need to be completed for foreign gains where tax was deducted and a claim for foreign tax credit is made.
SA106 covers foreign income from all sources. The return from your investments would be shown in SA106.

RE: NT tax code for resident in Spain
Hi
If your pension is a private pension or non government pension, you need to check the double taxation agreement.
The digest at Digest of Double Taxation Treaties will advise.
Pensions paid in regular intervals eg monthly and 'trivial commutaion lump sums' are not taxable in the UK.
You can dowload and print of the DT individual UK / spain form here Double Taxation: UK - Spain (Form Spain-Individual)
Please complete all appropriate sections, sign and send the form to your local tax office in Spain.
They will validate the form and return it to you with a "Residencia Fiscal en España Convenio". You need to send the form and the Residencia Fiscal en España Convenio to HMRC.
The HMRC address to send it to, is on the front page of the form.
Thank you
