  • RE: Director National Insurance

    Hi

Thank you for your enquiry. I can confirm that the qualifying weeks are restricted to the start of the directorship, therefore based on the information you have provided this would not entitle the director to a full year of National Insurance contributions for benefit purposes.

    Thanks

  • RE: NI contributions - differing bank account names

    Hi

HMRC have multiple accounts which denotes what the payment is for.

I can confirm that both account names are correct, you can use either account name with those bank details with the reference as per the payment information in your shortfall letter you do not need to call us for the 18digit reference number.

If your bank refuse to send the payment please use the HMRC NICO account name.

    Thanks

  • RE: How can I claim a refund for all my NI contributions after 11 years of working in the UK?

    Hi  Yavor Ivanov

I cannot advise if you are due a refund of NICs. If you believe you are due a refund you can write to International Caseworker with your name, NI number, contact number & details of the contributions you want refunding. You will need to include amounts paid, when they were paid, what year(s) were paid, how you paid, why you want a refund & IBAN or bank account and sort code or who to make a cheque payable to. Please send your details to International Caseworker, PT Operations North East England, HMRC, BX9 1AN, United Kingdom.

    Thanks

  • RE: Retrospective national insurance credits

    Hi

You may be able to claim NI credits for looking after a child. I would advise you to go to www.gov.uk and look into ‘home responsibilities protection (form CF411)’; parents and carers credits (form CF411A) and specified adult childcare credits (form CA9176). You can submit an application through your personal tax account, if you don’t have one you can sign up at gov.uk/personal-tax-account. HMRC do not award benefit credits, you should contact the Department for Work and Pensions to confirm if you are due any NI credits.

    Thanks

  • RE: Discrepancy in number of years with full NI contributions (3 additional years)

    Hi

You can also send a letter into Individuals caseworker, they can review your National Insurance account if you think it needs to be reviewed for this scenario. Please ensure the letter has the national Insurance number, your name, address and date of birth on there.
Please detail the issue on the letter also.

The address to send the letter to is:
    Individual Caseworker
    PT Operations North East England
    BX9 1AN

    Thanks
  • RE: definition of "presence in UK" for a overseas company

    Hi

I am unable to provide an in depth response on this forum, you should write into the department for a liability decision for both tax and national insurance  contribution (NICs) payments.

Depending on your circumstances you may be required to pay both employers or employees NICs as well as tax on your UK income.

If the UK company cannot pay you via their payroll then you will have to register with HMRC and pay directly to us.

You may wish to contact the UK company and request if this is something they can provide assistance with.

More information can be found on the www.gov.uk website:

PAYE Direct Payments procedures; if your employer has no address in the UK and from earnings that are paid.

    Thanks
