RE: Transfering funds to the UK to buy a house and tax implications.
Hi,
As you were resident in Turkey and paid tax there on your self employment, you would not be taxed on this income in the UK, if you were to transfer it to the UK. If you dispose of those stock while you are resident in the UK, there could be a capital gain tax liability.
Thank you. -

RE: Assistance needed on Self Assessments over £1000 on side earnings Studies and Surveys
Hi,
Interest from banks and building societies is paid without any tax deduction so you are not being taxed twice and it still needs to be included in the calculation. The income from the surveys will all be under 1 turnover figure.
Thank you. -
RE: First Self Assessment Tax Code
Hi,
If you are submitting a Self Assessment return for the Higher Income Child Benefit Charge, it's likely that you are a Higher Rate taxpayer. The transfer of Marriage Allowance is not available to Higher Rate taxpayers, and will automatically be excluded from your calculation.

RE: Detach Duty Relief eligibility
Hi,
Each case needs to be looked at in its own merit. Please see:

I'm sorry to hear that you did not receive contact from us to confirm the need to file a return. If your CIS employment began in the 20/21 tax year and finished in 2021 to 2022, you may need to file returns for both years.
To confirm this, and for advice on how to file these returns and claim any rebates due, contact our Self Assessment team by webchat or phone via:

RE: Dependant Relative Relief
Hi,
You will need to ensure that you meet the conditions below to claim this.
CG65550 - Private residence relief: dependent relative
If so, there is no actual form and you opt for an election when working out the gain. once you have worked out the reduction for the dependant relative, this is deducted from your capital gain figure after you have taken costs off the disposal price.
You need to use an estimate for your earnings when completing the form
Thank you.
