Hi,
You would declare the Insolvency Service payment as a redundancy payment under the other UK income section. For the redundancy you would answer yes to the question on the tailor your return section- Did you receive any other UK income, for example, employment lump sums, share schemes, life insurance gains? This will then open the section to declare the redundancy payment.

The 183 days is in reference to the days you live in the UK wether working or not. If taxed in both countires you can claim foreign tax credit relief for the tax paid in the country that you are not resident.

The interest paid on commerical and government bonds, also know as the 'coupon', is taxable as income in the UK. Income cannot be used to offset losses on the price bond fund. Capital Gains losses can be set against other Capital Gains.
