RE: Living abroad but work in the Uk
Hi,
If you are in the UK when carrying out this work for a UK employer, then this portion of your income will be taxable in the UK.
If 100% of the work for the UK employer is carried out in Spain or any other country outside of the UK, then the employment income is not taxable in the UK.

RE: Capital Gains Tax rate on Excluded Indexed Securities
Hi,
The capital gains tax rates for residential property (UK and foreign) is the lower rate 18% and the upper rate 24%.
All other form of capital gains, from the likes of the disposal of shares, artwork, antiques including furniture, collections of items (such as a chess set) and so on,
are taxable using the lower rate of 10% and the upper rate of 20%.
Any gains of this nature, must be reported using the realtime capital gains tax service, by 31 December after the tax year has ended.
Where this does not happen, then a self assessment tax return is required in all cases.
(Report and pay your Capital Gains Tax).

RE: Filling return of Old Age Living Allowance from Hong Kong Government
Hi,
If you were to follow self assessment legislation to the letter, then yes, a tax return would be required every year, as the individual is required to declare t
heir world-wide income, which would include non UK taxable income.
This income would be included in the freehand box, so that it is not included in any tax calculations.
