RE: Dormancy + Pre trading expense
Hi tompalmer ,
If your comapny has not yet started trading, you can declare this period as dormant.
Any pre-trading expenses (expenses that are wholly and exclusively business related) can be claimed as "pre-trading" expenditure
in your accounts of the 1st period of trading.

RE: Corporation Tax on Limited Company
Hi CGTQ22,
Changing a companies name has no impact on the running of the business.
As you have stated it is the same entity with merely a name change, the accounts and computations for the period(s) in which
you loaned money will confirm the loan took place.
Thank you. -
RE: Withholding tax
Hi Paul Williams,
If you need to tell HMRC that you have made an excessive claim in a CT600 where the time limit to amend the CT600 has expired, you will need to follow
our guidance under "Voluntary Dislosure".
This can be found at How to make a voluntary disclosure to HMRC

RE: Portugal NHR Regime - Double Tax Treaty
Hi Alps92,
1. This applies as dividends were previously taxed at source and is refelcted in the DTA. This no longer applies as dividends are paid gross and tax is ony due shuld you receive more than the dividend allowance (currently £1000). the DTA has not been updated.
2. If moving in August then you will not be in the UK for 183 days and therefore not UK tax resident. your dividends would therefore be disragrded income.
Thank you. -
