RE: Leaving UK again after having returned in current tax year
Hi soton123,
If you leave the UK, you would need to review the residence tests again, to determine if split year treatment applies.
If it doesn't then the overseas income earned when you are not resident, would not be taxable in the UK.
If you were considered resident for the full tax year and split year treatment does not apply, you would need to declare your overseas income and tax deducted on a self assessment tax return.
If you move overseas, you will need to complete P85 if you lived and worked in the UK and have left the UK and may not be coming back or you’re going to work abroad full-time for at least 1 full tax year and you have not been asked to complete a self assessment tax return in the tax year you leave the UK.
Get your Income Tax right if you're leaving the UK
Thank you.

RE: Ongoing self employment when non-resident for entire tax year, voluntary national insurance
Hi Kerma,
It will be considered still up and running until you tell HMRC that it has ceased.
You can complete the SA103 to tick that you wish to pay voluntary NI contributions, if you opt for this, you need to make the payment by 31/01/24.
If you would find the CF83 an easier option, you would leave the box on the SA103 unticked.
Thank you, -
RE: Salary sacrifice personal allowance adjustment
Hi Graeme Spinks,
The salary sacrifice figure is usually taken off before the tax is calculated, I would double check this with your employer.
Thank you. -
RE: Is salary sacrifice included in income forecast
Hi Graeme Spinks,
If you are sacrificing part of your Salary we wouldn't usually expect this to be used in the forecast, only the BIK for the company car would be expected to be shown.
Thank you. -
RE: SA104F -> SA104S
Hi MartinTax,
When completing the online version, at section 4, fill in your retrun, on the partnership part, you need to answer yes to the question, did the partnership receive income other than trading income. this then opens up further boxes that then tie in with boxes 13,22,25 from the partnership statement.
Thank you. -
