RE: Tax Residence Certificate - Clarification Questions
Hi Catalina,
In answer to you questions
1) Have you ever left the UK to work overseas? I moved to the UK in 2018 to study at Uni, during the period of time when I was doing my degree, I did a 1-month internship in Colombia during my summer break between my 1st and 2nd year of Uni - would this count as leaving the UK to work overseas?
1A) NO
2) Date that you returned to the UK? This questioned is being asked as I was outside of the UK for 6 months a bit (more than 183 days) in 2020 due to the pandemic. Should I just put the date that I returned to the country?
2A) YES
Thank you. -

If you earned under £1000 Self Employed, this would be covered by the Trading Allowance, and you would not need to file a return to declare this amount.
You can let us know that you no longer need to file here - Self Assessment tax returns .
If you would like us to review your eligibility and confirm that a return is not needed, contact us by webchat or phone via Self Assessment: general enquiries

RE: Self Assessment - Less payments for this year
Hi,
Your advanced payments, or Payments on Account (POAs), will not show in the Self Assessment calculation that is produced towards the end of your filing your return.
However, when you fully submit your return, your POAs will be deducted from the figure of tax due that the calculation produced.
You should see this on your Personal Tax Account, along with the remaining amount due to be paid (or your overpayment, if your POAs were too high).
