RE: Capital losses carry forward - keep updating
Hi,
You do not need to keep reporting the loss carry forward every year.
Keep a note of the tax year that you reported the loss, so that when you do utilies the loss against a gain, you can add additional information, advising the loss was carried forward from tax year xx to xx.

RE:CGT on property
Hi AndrewMorgan,
We cannot advise you how much capital gains tax is payable, merely refer you to the guidance.
Please have a look at the guidance on private residence relief at HS283 Private Residence Relief (2024) as you may be entitled to claim this relief, if the property was your main
residence for a period of time.
There is a calculator at Tax when you sell your home, which leads on to registering for a capital gains account.
You will need to use the capital gains services to report and pay your capital gains within 60 of the completion date.
For an answer to a detailed question of this nature, you would need to contact our self assesment helpline on 0300 200 3310, contact our webchat facility at Contact HMRC or seek professional advice.
Thank you. -
RE: small selling and bigger other capital gain
Hi answerpls,
Capital Gains Tax is a tax on the profit when you sell (or ‘dispose of’) something (an ‘asset’) that’s increased in value.
The trading income allowance of £1000 applies if you are self employed and disposing of stock to make a profit, it is not part of capital gains.
With capital gains, you have an annual exempt allowance in the current tax year of £3000.
Have a look at Capital Gains Tax for more information.

RE: Cash gift from parents outside UK
Hi David2024 Chen,
The interest element paid on the loan is taxable and will need to be declared to HMRC by both you and your wife for your share.
See SAIM2440 Savings and Investment Manual SAIM2440 - Interest: taxation of interest: when interest arises.

E104/S041 wrong details
Hi,
The type of credits awarded for periods when your wife was looking after your children, are not required for the purposes of an E104/S041 certificate, and that will be the reason that they have not been included on her certificate.
If your wife requires proof of how many qualifying years she has, and details of the information held on her National Insurance (NICs) records, she can request a statement of NICs.
To do this she will need to complete a CA3916 application form which can be found here - Get a PDU1 certificate or a National Insurance contributions statement
Thank you.

RE: U1 Form
Hi Jorgeb96,
You can still submit your application without this information.
Once HMRC process your application, if they need this information they will contact you and you can provide the information shown on your PAYE Income Tax Overview, or you can ask your employer for copies of your payslips, P45 or P60.
Thank you.
