There are no Income Tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax.

RE:Part redundancy
Hi Denise Burge,
Under s.214 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, the fact that money has been paid and been received under the title of Redundancy Payment then an immediate break occurs in the employee’s continuity of employment for the purposes of the statutory redundancy pay scheme and the 30k exemption will still apply.
