RE:Salary sacrifice car scheme
Hi crowe001,
For a taxable benefit amount to be paid by an employee it would need to be reported on P11d, you would also need to establish if OPRA applies.
Information on this can be found here:
Optional remuneration arrangements (480: Appendix 12)
This will advise which figure to use when calculating the taxable amount.
The benefit of salary sacrificing for a benefit is that the contract is in the companies name meaning it is only subject to class 1A national insurance so the employee will not pay any National Insurance on it.

RE:Secondary Glazing on FHL - is it capital expense?
Hi DobbyDCG,
The approach to take is to look at the asset and see what the result of the work is:
has the asset been altered or improved or has it been repaired to do the same job it was doing before.
As the latter would appear to apply here, then the cost incurred would be classed as an allowable expense.

RE: Calculating Net Adjusted Income for Child Benefit High Income Tax Charge
Hi clen,
If you made a contribution to a pension scheme where your pension provider has already given you tax relief at basic rate, take off the ‘grossed-up’ amount, what you paid plus the basic rate of tax.
So, for every £1 of pension contribution you made, take £1.25 from your ‘net income’.
Please guidance here:
Personal Allowances: adjusted net income
Thank you.
