  • RE:Expense for Gas

    Hi W R,
    Thank you for your question.
    The boiler would be a revenue deductions which would be allowable against rental income.
    We  would class the connection of the property to mains gas as not allowable against rental income as it comes under capital expenses at PIM3010. This states that at bullet point one:
    "The expenses on the gas connection would be allowable as an expenses if the property was ever sold".

    You can get £1000 each tax year in tax free allowances for property or trading income.
    If you have both types of income, you get a £1000 allowance for each

    Hi Craig H,
    If you would like to make another payment of voluntary National Insurance contributions then please call our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 200 3500 and they will be able to provide you with a new 18 Digit Reference number and also provide you with up-to-date details of our bank details. They’ll check your National Insurance account first.
    Before making payment you may with to speak with the Future Pension Centre to make sure that your payment of voluntary contributions will be beneficial to your Pension entitlement.

    If either you or your partner earn over £50,000 then you may still be able to claim Child Benefit Credits to maintain your National Insurance account for the State Pension.
    You may wish to call the Child Benefit Office Helpline on 0300 200 3100 and they will be able to help you with any Child Benefit queries.

    If you wish to pay voluntary contributions after reading the leaflet then please complete and return the CF83 application form which you will find at the same web page as the NI38.
