Hi
Please refer to guidance at Self Assessment tax returns -
RE: Split year treatment resubmission
Hi
Income from UK property is taxable in the UK, regardless of whether you are resident in the UK or not.
You would need to declare the gross income and expenses, from property from 6 April to 5 April each year and pay any tax that arises.
Split year treatment does not apply to income from property, which is why you would declare the full income in the tax year. -
RE: Combined income - Married Couple
Hi
No this is not possible.
Independant taxation removed the taxation of household income in 1990 and married couples/couples living together are now assessed as separate persons. -
RE: Money transfer
Hi Fer DP
There are no tax implications on the transfer of the capital but if the property is then rented out, you will need to notify HMRC.
You may need to contact the Spanish tax authorities to ascertain if there are any tax implications there. -
RE: SA102 - foreign income from a job
Hi ACTS
As no foreign tax has been deducted then you do not need to include a foreign page as part of your return.
You will just complete the SA102.
For the PAYE ref, enter ZZZ.

RE: Balancing payment
Hi
If you have no tax liability for 23/24, no payments on account will be generated for 24/25 and any tax to pay would then be a balancing payment to be paid in January 2026.
As you expect to have liability you can always make payments in advance. -
RE: is it necessary to set up as sole trader
Hi
The business name is normally your own name as you work for yourself. -
RE: How to correctly declare UK and Foreign income - Sole Trader
Hi RositaT
Yes, you need to show any of the foreign income as part of your self employed turnover to allow it to be included in the calculation.
This doesnt double your income.
If no foreign tax has been paid, then you do not need to include it on the foreign page as there is no tax credit to claim.
