Re: VAT on Expedia Commission
Hi,
If the agent are in the UK and charging you commission on their services then we would expect this to attract VAT at the 20% rate.
However the agent is the only one whon can confirm this for you.
If they are charging you VAT then legally they are required to provide you with a full VAT invoice so that you can use this as evidence to reclaim the VAT as input tax. Please see the guidance below:
VAT invoices

Re:Calculating adjusted net income for tax free childcare / 30 free hours
Hi,
If the pension contributions are taken from your income before your tax is calculated then you have already received the tax releif and this would not be deducted again for the adjusted net income:
Personal Allowances: adjusted net income

Re:Digital Product Sales - what to include on VAT return
Hi,
Unfortunately we can't help specufically with the figures which go in the boxes of the VAT return.
The important partis that box 1 contains the UK VAT you are charging and box 6 includes all of your net sales.,this will include your supply to Etsy in Ireland.

Re:Providing services as self employed for two different business
Hi,
If you are a sole trader then everything you do as a sole trader will come under your sole trader VAT registration.
This means that if you have sidelines like passenger transport services then this will come under this VAT registration and you would need to account for the VAT on these services and pay this over to HMRC.

Re:VAT on Partial Solar Install
Hi,
The query appears to be a dispute between the end user and the installers and not an HMRC issue,
If there is a dispute regarding the liability of the supply between the various parties this is a legal dispute rather than a tax issue.
With regard to the eventual supply by a new company, this would still be a supply of energy saving materials and can be zero rated.
Thank you.
