Hi, I started working remotely in UK for a Hong Kong company as self-employment since Feb 2022. Payment is made to my Hong Kong bank account by the HK company. Do I fill in SA103 Self-Employment or SA106 Foreign Income form for the above? I also have some dividends and interests earned by the savings and stocks I have in Hong Kong, but the total amount is less than £2,000, do I still need to report these in SA106 Foreign income form given I have other income (i.e. the income mentioned above) to report? Thank you.

Hi,

You would fill in SA103.  If foreign tax deducted and you want to claim a Foreign Tax Credit Relief, you would fill in SA106, page F6.

Thank you.

Hi
Yes you still need to report this as you are completing a tax return anyway.
Thankyou.

Hi HMRC, The situation above is similar with me. I am working remotely in UK for a Hong Kong clients as self-employment. As mentioned above, I have to fill in SA103. My self employed earning is more than £2,000, but I don't want to claim a Foreign Tax Credit Relief. -Should I need to fill in SA106, F6? or -I have to fill in SA106, F6. But I no need to put "X" in the column E? Thanks

Hi,

You need to complete the SA103 for self employment. The SA106 will only be required if tax is deducted in Hong Kong for you to claim foreign tax credit relief.

Tax on foreign income

Thank you.
