I am the trustee of some funds set aside by the will of my parents to be shared by my children when they reach 21. The first of the three is to reach 21 in September. I will distribute their third of the value of the trust then. My questions are - when I come to do the tax return for 23/24 do I mention that the trust has made this settlement to show hat the sum has reduced, of course accounting for any capital gains etc there may have been. The form seems to deal with distribution of income or regular payments from capital. This is maturity of the trust for that 1 beneficiary of the 3. - and do I need to remove that beneficiary from the government gateway. I assume the value then passes to them for tax purposes from then on. Best regards
