Dear all, I am looking for a way to prove identity for Self Assessment. My partner doesn’t have uk passport, driving license, P60 or a credit card to prove his identity. When contacted the number provided we were told by the person on the phone he can’t help us with this and we need to contact technical suppprt. We did we clicked on there is a problem with this page only to receive a generic and copy/paste email that we need to click on “this page is not working” or something like that. Funnily when we went through the steps again and made it to the page where we clicked on that my partner doesn’t have any of the options it takes you to a page that has 2 options “Go back” and “contact HMRC” So there is no option of “this page isn’t working” to click on as we were told in the generic email from tech support and the number you are provided is the one where we were told they can’t help us with proving identity. What a ridiculous circle to make people go through. How does one prove their identity to HCMR? This service has turned into a joke?
