I'm getting reminders for tax due Jan21st 2023 however I have already completed my return, and paid the amount requested by HMRC it shows monies going into your account 20th of July this year. after over 8 hours on hold throughout for days I finally managed to get someone on the phone who said they were new in the job and working from home, but aware that (quote) "loads of payments have gone missing and not to worry" she will pass onto the 'missing payment department' I have been on the phone again for another hour here and cannot reach anybody, I am getting automated emails and texts reminding me I will face penalties for late payment. My online account still shows the money is owed. Can anyone offer me some assistance here, just wasting so much of my time here trying to reach someone who can helpme.

Hi,

The timescale for allocating the payment or contacting you is currently 8 weeks,

if it has been longer than this please contact our helpline again.

Thank you.

Is this an auto generated answer? Because if anyone had read this I stated you received my payment in July Tried again today to reach anyone, costing me so much time here.

Hi,

I was not disputing that you made the payment in July, I was saying that if we have sent a request to get
the payment allocated to your account then please allow 8 weeks for this to be reviewed.

If we have not corrected your account in 8 weeks from when the referral was sent please contact us again .

Thank you.

OK thanks, just that your operative that I did manage to speak to said I was to ring again if not sorted after a week (three weeks ago) hence my post, the eight weeks will obviously take me past the point where HMRC email said penalties will be applied if I haven't paid, I trust I can ignore these emails and texts. Will wait and see what comes through, many thanks and Merry Christmas to you. John.
