Security checks

I submitted my self assesment on 22nd April and still have no received my money. The money is showing as repayment pending in the app. Initially I was told by my accountant to expect my money within four weeks of submission. I didn’t receive my money in this time so contacted Hmrc who told me that my money was going through extra checks and I will get my money before 5th June (6 weeks after submission date). On 5th of June I phoned Hmrc again because I still hasn’t received my money or any information regarding what was going on. I was told that the delay was due to security checks and that I may or may not receive letters in the post regarding further information HMRC require from me to release the money. It is now 8 weeks from the date of submission and I have received nothing, no letter or any correspondence from Hmrc. I’d be more than happy to provide information for the additional checks if Hmrc were to actually initiate them.
