I get the message "we have found your personal tax account under a different government gateway ID" when I try to log in. I went through the steps of verifying identity (no problem) and also recovering my Govt Gateway ID (using my UTR). It then came back with exactly the same govt gateway ID I have logged in with first time around. I cannot find any correspondence with the govt gateway ID it mentions I need to log back in with (it gives me the last 4 digits but they are alien to me). This is driving me crazy and cant find any way to move this forward. Can any help?

Hi, I'm encountering the same problem. I was wondering if you've gotten it sorted? If so, how did you do it? The HMRC website is taking me around in circles and I am going mad. Thanks a lot!
