If my income does not exceeds the tax free allowance, do I still need to do the self assessment? Thank you

Hi,

It depends on the type of income received.

Self Assessment tax returns

Thank you.

How about bank saving interest tax free allowance. If I only have about £200 saving interest in that year, do I need to do the self assessment or file a tax return? Thank you

I only got about £200 saving interest from my foreign bank account in that year. There was no other income. Do I need to send a self assessment tax return? Thank you

Hi, I only got about £200 saving interest from my foreign bank account, do I need to fill SA106? Or I just fill the amount in box 3 in page TR3 of SA100? should I put X in yes or no in box 5 Foreign in page TR 2 of SA100? Thank you

Hi

The additional information on page 3 of tailor your return states if your only foreign income was untaxed foreign interest up to £2,000 or foreign dividends up to £2,000, or both, you can put these amounts in 'Did you receive any interest' or 'Did you receive any dividends' sections on page 2 of 'Tailor your return' instead of completing the 'Foreign section. '
The boxes in TR3 would be used instead of the Foreign section.

Thank you
