Requested a repayment

Help Please, I have requested a repayment and on the screen it says A repayment was requested recently and that request is currently being processed. This will take 48 hours after which you will be able to make a further repayment request if your account is in credit. Does this normally take the full 48 hours and i did complete before and I waited the the 48 hours and then I had to do it again after speaking to HMRC they said because I made a mistake and put that I paid PAYE. Just wondering if anybody else has had any experience with this?

When requesting a repayment online it can take 48 hours for this request to go through our system.
Repayments can take longer to process if they are stopped for additional security checks.
