RE: Clarification on PAYE Tax Code Collection for Self-Assessment Tax and Notification Process
Hi.
You should receive confirmation of your updated code, including whether your underpayment has been included in your code, shortly before the start of the 25/26 tax year when your new
code is issued. You should also be able to view whether your underpayment has been coded via your Personal Tax Account, and if your balancing payment is still outstanding (and not coded)
before the payment deadline of 31st of January 2025, you should receive payment reminders. If you would like us to review your record and confirm whether your underpayment has been
coded, contact us by webchat or phone via:

RE: Claim a Tax Refund If You’ve Stopped Work (P50 form)
Hi,
In most cases, you would enter the p45 information from the job you left last. However, if you have left 2 or more of your employments within a short space of time of one another, we would
advise that you contact us directly by webchat or phone via:

to ensure that we have the correct information to process your claim accurately.

RE: Tax implication on foreign investment
Hi,
We are unable to advise you on your tax liability in this forum, as we can only provide general advice. Please review the tax treaty between both countries and consider it along with the UK
statutory residence tests, which can be found at:

RE: Split year treatment date and foreign income, bonus calculation
Hi,
The bonus was earned through employment that occurred in Hong Kong, when you were resident there. For this reason the bonus is only taxable in Hong Kong, so should not be declared on
the self assessment tax return. You can for the purposes of full disclosure, declare this bonus in the free hand notes box as taxable in Hong Kong, in box 19 of SA100.
Thank you. -
RE: Client asking for UTR reference
Hi,
Like your national insurance number (NINO), please keep your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) secure and avoid sharing it with unauthorised / unknown parties. Their should be no reason
why your client would require your UTR, as the UTR is only of use to HMRC. Other non government platforms should not be using your UTR as a means of identifying you.
Thank you. -
RE: Dividends from Mutual Funds which are reinvested as units of the fund
Hi,
The dividends arising from shares are taxable as income each year, even if the dividend is used to buy more shares. It is only if the share are sold, they could be liable to capital gains tax.
Thank you. -
RE: Employed in foreign country
Hi,
You will need to select 'yes' to the employment sections and enter "None" in the box for a PAYE reference. This will allow the foreign income to be included in the tax calculation.
Thank you.
