RE: Non Coded Income 6th April 2024 to April 2025
Hi Nick Brough,
If non PAYE income was declared on your last tax return then your tax code would be updated going forward with this figure as an estimate.
If you want to check what the non coded income refers to you will need to contact HMRC Self Assessment: general enquiries
Thank you.

RE: P85 for past years-
Hi Zaghaou,
Yes, you will need to submit a self assessment tax return for the year year up to 5 April 2024 and this should include your resdidential property income.
You do not need to include your foreign income arising from the date you started your employment in January 2024 to 5 April 2024.
If you have not completed a self assessment tax return before, you will need to register for self assessment at Check how to register for Self Assessment.
HMRC's online tax return cannot be used by non UK residents. Provided they have a government gateway user ID and password, they will can buy a commercial tax return from the list provided at Self Assessment commercial software suppliers. The only other alternative is a paper tax return which can be obtained at Self Assessment tax return forms.
Paper returns have a filing deadline of 31 October each year.
Thank you.

RE: CGT on property sale where property is registered under two separate deeds
Hi Gordon Simpson,
You will need to seek financial advice on the matter of amalgamting the deeds into one, as this is not a tax matter.
Please have a look at the helpsheet HS283 (HS283 Private Residence Relief (2024)) for private residence relief.
There is also a calculator at Tax when you sell property, to help you work out your gain and the option to register for a capital gais tax account.
Any gain from the disposal must be reported and paid within 60 days of the completion date.
Thank you.

RE: Self Assessment Necessary if 2nd income is below £1000
Hi Haximus,
If your self employed income is less than £1000 and you do not meet any other Self Assessment criteria then you do not need to submit a Self Assessment tax return.
You can check if you meet criteria at Check if you need to send a Self Assessment tax return
Thank you.
