RE: Backdating a P85 form
Hi Ramon,
HMRC can review the current tax year 2024/24 plus the previous 4 which would be back to the 2020/21 tax year.
If before the 2020/21 tax year then these are now out of date.
To review if a NT code can be issued you will need to contact HMRC to review Income Tax: general enquiries

RE: Do I need to report any Car allowance amount to HRMC?
Hi carlos.calroy,
If a car allowance this would normally be added to your salary and taxed through your emplloyer.
If this is the case fort yourself then you do not need to report separately.

RE: split year
Hi Ben Leung,
If you qualify for split year then you only report any foreign income for the UK part of the year:-
Residence, Domicile and Remittance Basis Manual RDRM12000 - Residence: The SRT: Split year treatment:.
If you do not qualify then you will need to report all your foreign income to the UKTax on foreign income.
The guidance at RDRM12150 - Residence: The SRT: Split year treatment will help you work out if split year treatment applies.
Guidance on who needs a tax return is at Self Assessment tax returns

RE: Change to Tax Allownce due to redundancy
Hi Neil Wilts,
The code will collect the correct tax based on your income for the tax year.
Once you leave your current job if you then start a new job you would hand in your P45 and any refund would be calculated through your new employer.
If you are not returning to employment or receiving taxable benefit then you can complete a P50 from to claim a refund, please see tha following link,
Claim back Income Tax when you've stopped working (P50).

Hi Robert Jones,
If a PAYE refund is issued and you then complete a Self Assessment tax return there is a section were you can enter the details of the repayment already received and then taken into account in the calculation. If not entered when the Self Assessment is filed it can be amended to include.

RE: Declaring savings interest
Hi
The banks and building societies submit the untaxed interest details to HMRC after the tax year end.
Once received we will review the tax year and if underpaid a calculation will be issued with the details.
Thank you.
