  • RE: Income tax payment

    Hi wingsham,
What you're seeing there is normal - as the payment on account is not yet due, the amount you've paid will sit as a credit.
When the payment on account becomes due on 31/01/25, your payment will automatically be allocated towards that.
If you'd like us to check your Self Assessment statement, though, just contact us by webchat or post via Self Assessment: general enquiries.
    Thank you.

  • Mileage

    Hi Kyle Innes,
If included in your salary then you would not need to declare separately on your Self Assessment.
If there is a figure on the P11d then this will be a separate taxable benefit and will need to be declared on your Self Assessment.
    Thank you.

  • RE: Class 3 Pension Payments

    Hi rybara Rybarczyk,
As long as HMRC has received your CF83 application before the April 2025 deadline date that means you have hit the deadline.
Even if you don’t get a response after the deadline date, HMRC will take this into account and you will still be allowed to voluntary pay after April 2025.
The details of the amounts you will need to pay and how to pay will be on the correspondence letter sent to you.
    Thank you.

  • RE: CF83 processed. How to pay mix of class 2 and class 3 (overseas resident)

    Hi Jonathan Gregory,
I can confirm that when you are paying overseas voluntary National Insurance contributions you would always use the reference number of your National Insurance Number, IC, then your surname and first initial.  If that is too much for the 18 Digits then as much of your surname as possible (ie QQ123456AICJONESA).
You may send one payment of voluntary class 2 and class 3 contributions.
    Thank you.
  • RE: Voluntary Class 2 contribution while abroad

    Hi Moideen Kunju Abdul Rahim,
As you’ve advised that you were not employed overseas, then you are not able to pay voluntary class 2 contributions for your period overseas.
If you were self-employed overseas then you may however be entitled to pay voluntary class 3 contributions for your period overseas, please see attached link for more information.
Apply to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions when abroad
    Thank you.
  • RE: National Insurance Contribution Year is wrong

    Hi STCY,
You don’t have to call HMRC. However, without checking your Mums National Insurance records I am unable to confirm if the National Insurance contributions shown are correct or not.
For your own (or your Mums) clarification you can contact HMRC by phone or post. Please see contact details below:

  • RE: COPE confusion

    Hi janet Assheton,
Please call our Contracted out Pensions Helpline and ask for a Contracted out pension history.
HMRC holds historical information of any contracted out pensions you have paid into.
In most instances your workplace or personal pension(s) will include an amount that is equivalent to the estimated COPE amount shown in your statement. This is not normally identified specifically but is paid by your pension scheme(s) as part of your total private pension.
The date when you get your workplace or personal pension, and the full amount you receive, will depend on the rules of your scheme(s) and possibly any
    investment choices you make.
If you are unsure when you will be paid your workplace or personal pension, please contact your scheme to find out. If you are unsure of their contact details,
you can use the Pension Tracing Service.

  • RE: U1 Form

    Hi Arnyy1987,
Unfortunately, we cannot advise when you will receive the U1 through the post, but if you have still not received it may I ask that you call our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 2003500 (from the UK) or +44 191 2037010 (from overseas) they will check the address that we hold for you and send out a copy.

  • National insurance credits with child benefit

    Hi eagriffi,
There is a situation where a Grandparent/Family Member can apply for a transfer of Child Benefit National Insurance Credits from a Parent that has/is in receipt of Child Benefit.
We only transfer Child Benefit credits and convert them to Specified Adult Childcare Class 3 credits when the original claimant is not at loss if a transfer is made.
The grandparent/family member can submit an application form CA9176 to apply for the transfer of the credits.
    Thank you.
