and they will be able to help you to update your National Insurance account with your new address.

RE: National Insurance contributions and pension gap years
Hi,
It would depend on whether you have any other credits on your records, and the number of weeks you were self-employed.
For example, if you were only self-employed and you were self-employed for the whole tax year (52 weeks) your income would need to be above the small profit threshold (£6725 for the 2024-2025 tax year) to make that year a qualifying year for pension purposes.
Please see further information regarding self-employed National Insurance contributions here - National Insurance: introduction National Insurance classes
Thank you. -
RE: Withdraw money from National Insurance paid?
Hi,
Whilst living in the UK, you are liable to pay National Insurance contributions if you are employed or self-employed, and you cannot withdraw any money from these payments.
Further information about National Insurance contributions can be found here - National Insurance: introduction
Thank you.

RE: CF83 shortly before or after reaching pension age
Hi,
HMRC has limited access to your qualifying years for pension when you are close to, or over State Pension Age.
The International Pension Centre have full access, therefore they are responsible for quoting any shortfalls when you are within 6 months of, or over State Pension Age.
They are fully trained in assessing your request and quoting the correct rate of voluntary National Insurance contributions that are applicable to you (class 2 or class 3).
Thank you. -
RE: CF83 submission - delayed response
Hi,
You should not make any payments before you have received a response to your application.
All applications are processed in datal order, and there is nothing that you can do to speed up your application.
As long as your application has been received by HMRC prior to the deadline date of 5 April 2025, the earlier years will be considered.
Thank you.
