RE: Wrong number of years NI
Hi Lolito Lolito,
Any social security contributions that you’ve paid in another country are not recorded on your UK National Insurance account.
If you have a Personal Tax Account this will show year by year the National Insurance contributions paid so you may see where the extra years are.
You may, however, wish to call our National Insurance Help on 0300 200 3500 and they will be able to check your National Insurance account and provide you with a Statement of all the National Insurance contributions that are recorded.
Thank you. -
RE: Do I need to pay NI contributions if I retire early?
Hi Ray Everingham,
Depending on how many qualifying tax years that you have in your working life you may need to consider paying voluntary National Insurance contributions if you retire early.
To check this may I suggest that you contact the Future Pension Centre (Application for a State Pension forecast) and they will be able to advise if you already have a full pension entitlement or not.
If you have a Personal Tax Account (PTA) you will be able to find the same information, if you do not have a PTA then you may wish to set one up Personal tax account: sign in or set up

RE:Class 2 contributions request progress.
Hi Ian Boydon,
Sorry you’ve not yet had a reply to your CF83 application form to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions whilst overseas.
Our International Teams are currently dealing with queries received in February 2023 for EU countries or November 2022 for countries outside of the EU.
Unfortunately, this will mean that there will still be a delay before you receive a reply.
If you would like to speak with our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 200 3500 (or +44 191 2037010 from overseas) then they will be able to check your application and give you a more accurate timescale for your reply.

RE: voluntary contribution after retirement age
Hi OpentoLearn,
When a person is employed or self-employed in the UK they are liable for National Insurance contributions until the state they reach State Pension Age.
After this date you may still work or be self-employed but you would not pay National Insurance contributions any longer.
Thank you.

RE: Leaving Rental Income in a Last Will.
Hi Franco,
We cannot reply to letters via this forum and you have posed questions that are about your own situation.
I would therefore suggest that you write to HMRC for a more detailed response. Please note however that we cannot comment on the legality of a will and you will
need to seek independent advice on this matter.

Ownership of property comprises legal ownership (TSEM9120) and beneficial ownership (TSEM9130).
The same person may be both legal owner and beneficial owner of the property, but there can be a separation of the two.
The legal owner is the person/s in whose name/s the property is held or registered. The beneficial owner is the person for whose benefit the property is held.
It is distinguished from the person in whose name the property is held (the legal owner). The starting point is that the legal owner is presumed to be the beneficial
owner unless there is evidence to the contrary. The legal and beneficial ownership of property may be separated by a valid declaration of trust.
Further information is available at: TSEM9150 - Ownership and income tax: legal background: ownership: legal and beneficial ownership - separation -
