Hi,
If you could call our National Insurance Helpline on 0300 200 3500 (from the UK) or +44 191 203 7010 (from overseas), then they will be able to check your National Insurance account and arrange for any money to be allocated.

RE: Voluntary Contributions
Hi Helen,
I can confirm that you will not be penalised by any delay that you will experience in receiving a reply from us.
Should our reply be issued to you close to the 5 April 2025 deadline then you will be given extra time to make any payment of voluntary National Insurance contributions.
Thank you. -
RE: Grandparents claiming child credit
Hi L Russell,
If your application is successful, your daughters National Insurance records would not be affected.
We would only transfer the credits if your daughter didn’t need them herself.
Further information can be found here - Apply for Specified Adult Childcare credits
Thank you.

RE: How to notify which year I wish to pay Voluntary NIC class 2 and to which account number?
Hi NatG,
The correct account to make your payment to is the account shown on the gov.uk website -
Pay Class 2 National Insurance if you do not pay through Self Assessment: Make an online or telephone bank transfer - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
The reference number you should use for your payment would be, your National Insurance number, followed by IC then your surname and initial.
To make sure your payment is allocated to the correct year, you can either contact the National Insurance helpline or write to HMRC to advise them which year to allocate your payment to. Please see contact details below:

Thank you. -
RE: Buying Holiday & NMW
Hi MrsH,
Any deduction from pay, outside of a very specific list of exceptions, is likely to reduce a workers minimum wage pay.
Salary sacrifice will always reduce a worker's minimum wage pay.
The worker is in essence giving up that portion of their pay in exchange for something else, so it cannot be included in any minimum wage calculations.
Any determination would depend on the arrangements in place.
For more information, please refer to: Calculating the minimum wage Salary sacrifice
Thank you.

RE: NI gaps while unemployed
Hi,
The amount shown on your National Insurance records will be a voluntary payment that you can choose to pay if you want to make that year a qualifying year for pension purposes.
