RE: Tax refund to Agen
Hi Ali,
If the calculation you have received is a P800 calculation advising you have overpaid income tax under PAYE then currently only the individual can claim a repayment via BACS
The repayment can only be paid into the individals bank account.
Any repayments to be made to agents or nominees then HMRC must issue these via Cheque.
Without access to your records we are unable to see what was received in connection to the Hawkshaw Ltd but if you are concerned we would recomment you contact and speak to HMRC please see link:

RE: BIK vs Salary Sacrifice Benefit
Hi Alexander Darling,
Since 6th April 2017 changes to the legislation mean that the tax and National Insurance Contributions (NICs) advantages where benefits in kind (BIK) are provided through salary sacrifice (called Optional Remuneration Arrangements (OpRA) in the legislation) are now largely withdrawn and taxable.
Exemptions to this are childcare, cycle to work, pension advise, pension contributions.

RE: How many weeks work for a full class 1 year?
Hi Spag Locks,
Please see the below link about National Insurance thresholds on GOV.UK.
This details how much is required to be earned each time you are paid either weekly, monthly or yearly.
The LEL (Lower Earnings Limit) needs to be reached for Class 1 National Insurance while being employed.
Rates and allowances: National Insurance contributions
For periods of un-employment, if you receive any benefits, they may attract National Insurance credits per week, that can complete a tax year.
If you are not reaching the LEL through employment and any credits from benefits that do not cover the weeks when you are not working, there is the option to pay Class 3 voluntary National Insurance.
We can only advise if there are any gaps within a tax year once it has been completed and processed.

RE: NI 10 Years Qualify Question
Hi LeoChan,
If you reach your State Pension age in June 2032, then tax year 2031/32 is the last year that could qualify towards your State Pension.
You would not be liable to pay any National Insurance contributions once you reach State Pension age.
If you were in the UK before 2023 then you could look at the possibility of voluntary Class 3 contributions for earlier years but that would depend on when you came to the UK.
Thank you.

RE: Mechanism for paying class 2 NI contributions from abroad
Hi Keith,
We would ask that you wait 10 working days from making your payment to calling the National Insurance Helpline to check if we have received it. From receiving the payment it may take up to 8 weeks for the payment to appear on an individuals National Insurance account.
Thank you.
