RE:How to pay Class 2 NIC's when income is between 6725 and 12570 in TY 2023-24
Hi rrjmaier,
This amount will not show until your tax return is actually submitted.
As it will be a voluntary payment you need to pay it before 31/1/25 for it to stay on your Self Assessment record.
If not paid by then, it would need to paid direct to NI
Thank you.

RE:Claiming Foreign Tax credit rate
Hi Ellenbf42 F,
Please have a look at the double taxation tax treaty between the UK and Australia:
2003 Australia-UK Double Taxation Convention - in force Updated 31 May 2021
Article 10 covers dividends.
For most individuals the relief rate is 15%.
You can find tax treaties for the UK and other countries on this internet.
Search for 'tax treaties uk / xxxx'.
The FTCR will be up to a maximum of 15% of the Australian dividend received, depending on how much UK tax is payable on all of the dividends in the tax return.
Thank you.

RE: CGT under split year treatment
Hi ArnoldE
It is a foreign capital gains, not foreign income.
It should still be declared on a Self Assessment tax return, even if no UK Capital Gains Tax is payable.
If you qualify for split year treatment and the disposal of this property occurrrd in the non UK resident period, then it is not taxable in the UK and should not be included on the tax return.
Thank you. -
