RE: SA for Ukrainian working as employee for Ukr company
Hi Oleksandr Gr
If the income has already been taxed abroad, you declare it under the self employed income and also the foreign section.
Tick to claim Foreign Tax Credit Relief and enter the amount of tax paid.
All income must be converted to sterling.
Thank you. -
Tax Return Submission - will I get an official confirmation from HMRC
Hi KF@2023,
if submitted online, you will recieve your submission receipt.
You would have seen the balance due to be paid before you submitted the return.
You can also view this on your statement to ensure payment is made before 31/01/24.
Thank you.

RE:Holiday pay upon leaving temp assignment
Hi minwage,
Yes, holiday pay is taxable in the year it is received.
PAYE is taxable on an arising basis which means it is taxed when it is paid.
For holiday pay, this can be taxed on a receipts basis which means it may be due to be paid in 21/22 but not paid until 22/23 if this is more beneficial to you.
Whatever year it is paid though it is still taxable income.
Thank you.

RE:In effect as a nominee for my parent
Hi edmond00,
As the account is in your name, you would be the one to declare the income unless you had it in writing that you are not the beneficial owner of the income.
As non domiciled, you can declare income under the remittance basis:
Paying tax on the remittance basis (Self Assessment helpsheet HS264)
Thank you.

RE:Tax return
Hi Michael Cahill,
If you had advised on your previous return that the business had ceased, it will just be the property income.
If you have not, you need to confirm that you have ceased trading in car repairs.
Thank you.
