I was renting rooms until October 2021 and then I moved abroad and let out my whole property from November 2021. On my self -assessment I don't know what to do in terms of allowances. It is a split year, so do I have to count it as buy to let rather than have any advantage of the rent a room scheme? I presume I can only use one system per year. But can I use the rent a room if I have let the whole property for part of the year?
