I am completing my self assessment I have one property I rent out which has a buy to let repayment mortgage I understand you cannot claim tax relief on interest payments but a portion of my mortgage payment goes towards reducing the actual amount I owe For example, mortgage payment per month is £ 350 of which £ 200 goes towards interest payment and the remainder £ 150 goes towards reducing the amount I owe. Can I claim this £ 150 x 12 as further expenses when I complete the self assessment

Hi,

No, you can only claim the interest.
