Pension Annual Allowance Carry Forward

I receive the full details of my adjusted net income after year end. If my adjusted net income is below £40k in the current year, but above £312k next year, can I still carry forward the unused £40k into the next year?

You will have unused allowances available to carry forward if your pension contributions in the year you are referring to were less than that year's annual pension allowance.         See Link: Check if you have unused annual allowances on your pension savings   . Thank you.
