Marriage Allowance

I have had the MA allowance for the last 6 years. In all those years, my wife was a non-tax payer and I remained a basic tax payer. Now, all of a sudden I have received two tax calculations for previous years 20/21 and 21/22 which effectively is seeking to claw back the allowance. They do not explain why. Other than writing a letter and wait forever for a response, what else can I do?

If the calculations do not indicate why it has been withdrawn and your wife has not contacted us you will need to contact our Income Tax department for an explanation.
