Good day, I used to be registered as a sole-trader, but closed this down in 2019 following the steps on my hmrc account. In 07/23 I received notice from hmrc about late penalties for the financial year ending 2022. I have been trying since then to to contact hmrc to rectify this but I have not been able to. Phone calls leads the automated system to go in circles and cannot get through to a person, the website has no information that leads to solving the problem either, especially as I no longer have any access through a gateway ID. I have sent letters, my last resort back in 08/23 but I’ve only received further penalties since. The letters contain no means of appeal, despite being told that is meant to be the way forward. Can someone please help me with this as the stress and anxiety situation is causing is getting too much
