RE: UK Tax on Australian Superannuation
Hi sanjay,
You would need to check with the Australian tax authorities whether there would be a tax liabilty in Australia for the transfer of the pension to a UK pension scheme.
If your client takes a sum payable periodically, at stated times, then this would be taxable in the UK and not Australia.
Your client would declare this foreign pension in a self assessment tax return.
There is no tax relief for 'trivial cumutated lump sums.
If your client takes the pension as a lump sum, this would be taxable in Australia and not the UK.

RE: CGT on inherited property
Hi dave24,
It will be based on the difference from probate value to the value at date of sale.
Thank you. -
RE: Managed (Robo Advisor) Portfolio Rebalancing
Hi Gordon23,
Yes you need to confirm the number of disposals made in the tax year with an overall total.
You can attach a PDF document online with this if there are numerous ones.

RE: Private Residence Relief on let property
Hi Sn00py42!!,
Yes.
The period that the property was your main residence qualifies for private residence relief, plus a further 9 months over the number of months you owned the property.
Have a look at the guidance at HS283 Private Residence Relief (2023).
There is also a capital gains calculator at Tax when you sell your home, which follows on to registering a capital gains account to report and pay the capital gains within 60 days of the completion date.

RE: Cash gift from parent
Hi
There are no income tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax.
Further guidance can be found here (Tax on savings interest and Tax on dividends).

RE: CGT on inherited property passing through survivorship
Hi Roger Taylor,
For the surviving spouse, it would be the acquisition costs, not the probate value.
Have a look at example 1 at CG22240 - Transfer of assets: between spouses or between civil partners: examples
Thank you.

RE: Foreign tax credit relief
Hi ranald1947,
No this cannot be offset against any UK gain.
This is a social tax paid in Spain and is only applicable as the value has increased and has not actually contributed to the increase by way of improving it.
You can claim foreign tax credit relief for any income/capital gains tax paid in Spain.
