Hi ukmercenary,
It's most likely that there was £22.90 still outstanding to be paid on your statement before your 22/23 balancing payment and 23/24 Payments on Account were calculated.
Any payment made on Self Assessment goes towards the oldest oustanding amount, so the outstanding £22.39 will have been paid first.

As the payment is not due until 31 January 2025 the payment will show as a credit on your account until closer to the due date and then it will be allocated.
