RE:No need for Self Assessment any more
Hi Tony Hall,
The notice to file the 2023/24 tax returns were selected to be issued before 5 April so could just be a cross over with your record being closed. As you have already contacted HMRC and been confirmed as closed then we would advice you wait for the letter confirming this.
Thank you. -

RE: annual bonus tax implications
Hi Gagandeep Singh,
The tax is calculated based on your pay in the tax year and the tax code operated.
If your employer is using the correct code, 1257L, then the corrrect tax should be paid.
For the tax year 2023/24 which ended 5 April 2024 once we receive the PAYE details from your employer we will review the record and if overpaid a calculation will be issued.
Thank you. -

RE:Another Self-Assessment Question
Hi Sean Williams,
You would not expect a big balance to pay based on your circumstances.
Please check you have entered the tax paid at source by your employers on the employment page.
If you check the figures and they are correct you can contact Self Assessment for advice.
Self Assessment: general enquiries.
Thank you.
