Hello, My husband and I are both UK citizens (born here) and moved to New Zealand between 2014 and 2023. We have now returned back to the UK and have £140,000 in savings in a bank in NZ from the sale of our home in 2022. Will we be taxed on this when we bring it into the UK? We are using the money to build a home here. We are NZ Citizens also. Thanks.

Also just want to add that this was our only home, it was never rented out to anyone else, and we lived in it for the full 2 years that we owned it.

Hi

You will not be taxed on the money you bring into the UK from the sale of your NZ home.

Thank you
