RE: Guidance on Social Security abroad: NI38
Hi abroadinireland,
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide examples, you would need to complete the CF83 application form for your personal circumstances to be reviewed, and confirmation on whether you are eligible to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions at the lass 2 rate.
If you do not meet the criteria set out in 2(a) or 2(b), please attach a covering letter to your application providing details of periods when you have lived or worked in an EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland or Turkey.
This additional information will be useful for HMRC when they assess your application.
Thank you.

RE: Uk pensioner needs A1 form for Croatian authorities
Hi Jan S,
Based on the information you have provided, although you are not working in two or more countries, the CA8421 still sounds more applicable to your circumstances.
You can complete the CA8421 and attach a covering letter explaining your situation.
Thank you.

RE: How do I get my Temporary National Insurance Number?
Hi Diarmuid Duggan,
Temporary National Insurance Numbers are just something that an employer would use on their payroll, until they are given a full National Insurance Number from their employee.
There is no register for a Temporary National Insurance Number so you may wish to speak with your employer about this.
However, your should give them your full National Insurance Number at your earliest convenience.
Thank you.

RE: Class 3 NI: Need to inlclude IC in payment reference if paying from UK bank?
Hi Adey,
We can confirm that as you appear to be paying voluntary National Insurance contributions from overseas, the correct format of your ’18 Digit Reference Number’ is:
National Insurance Number followed by IC followed by surname and initials if possible.
This Reference Number is the same whichever bank account you use to make your payment to us.
Thank you.

Hi N Goodall,
When you claim your UK State Pension with The Pension Service you would include details of your employment in other countries and they may be able to include these periods when they calculate your pension.
You may wish to call the International Pension Centre on 0191 2187777 and they will be able to help you further.
Thank you.
