RE: Pay HMRC for "paying too little tax"
Hi,
If you do not pay the payment in full, it will be collected via your tax code in the following tax year.
If you chose to pay the full amount online as stated in the letter, then HMRC would remove the underpayment from your next years' code upon allocation of the payment received.

RE: Government Gateway State Pension summary and National Insurance Record
Hi,
Without being able to check your record we are unable to give a definitive reply.
Generally NI credits are not usually awarded specifically for a period in full time education. If you wish to pay NICs voluntarily for a period spent outside of the UK, you will need to complete form CF83. Your eligibility to pay will be assessed on your particular circumstances, we will then check your record for shortfalls and advise if these can be paid and at what rate.
To discuss the apparent anomaly on your NI record, you can call the NI helpline on 0300 200 3500. Lines are open 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday.
Alternatively, you can include your query in a covering letter with your CF83 form:

RE: RE: Record shows 46 full years but also 4 years to contribute.
Hi,
Yes, it is possible to stop working and paying NICs before reaching state pension age and still have paid NI in enough years to give 100% entitlement.
It is not necessary for NICs to be paid in the years ‘immediately prior to claiming the state pension’ specifically.
However in certain cases paying for gaps prior to the 2016-17 year will not improve entitlement.
For specific advice on your pension entitlement, I recommend you speak to the future pension centre on 0800 731 0175 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday

RE: Voluntary NI Contributions. Qualifying years.
Hi,
Pension entitlement is complex and HMRC are unable to give specific information.
However generally speaking, in many cases the payment of NICs on a voluntary basis for years prior to 2016-17 will sometimes not increase pension entitlement.
Please speak to the DWP and tell them the years you have paid voluntarily. They will advise which of these years has lead to an increase in your pension entitlement.
The years that have not increased your entitlement can either be refunded or moved to a different year if that will increase your entitlement.
However I must stress that HMRC can only refund or re-allocate on your instructions.
You must speak to DWP first and confirm the exact information with them before calling us.

RE: Paying import VAT/customs duty on gift for my UK recipient
Hi,
You need to check with the sender as how much value was declared when the gift was sent from abroad. More information on thresholds for gifts is available below:

RE: Manually writing the EORI on the Commercial Invoice, and reclaiming DDP VAT
Hi,
DDP is a commercial arrangement between the importer/exporter and their representatives.
In order to claim import VAT back businesses need either C79 or PVA statements.
In such cases where neither of them are available, you have to speak to the VAT helpline to find out what alternative evidence is acceptable for VAT returns.

RE: Voluntary NI Contributions in Year reach State Pension Age
Hi,
Only complete tax years will count towards pension entitlement.
You are neither liable nor eligible to pay NICs after you reach state pension age and so would only be able to pay from April to November 2018.
As this is not a complete tax year, it would not improve your pension entitlement.
Thank you.
