I will be grateful for help. Is the import done correctly? Self-employed imports goods for sale in the UK from a non-EU country. I buy goods in a online store in another country with delivery by post office. I don`t have an EORI number and I didn`t make a import declaration. I received the goods by post office with the customs declaration, form CN 23. There is no VAT or customs duties, because the goods are free of its.

A private individual does not need an EORI number. The Post Office handles the import formalities based on the CN23 customs declaration. Goods below £135 can be imported duty free. There are no reliefs on VAT so the online store should have charged you the UK VAT in their price. Even if the goods are above £135 they may be customs duty free if the standard duty rate is zero for those particular goods. If there are any taxes to pay the Post office usually request that you pay on line before delivery.
