Hi, I work in compliance at a recently authorised customs (bonded) warehouse clearing under SCDP. There is a requirement that all goods are arrived at the warehouse within 5 days of clearance at port, which we work with our agents and forwarders to monitor and so far have complied with 100%. However it has come to light that two containers arrived at port this week and cleared as bonded are not scheduled for delivery until day seven. This is mostly due to the bank holidays around the weekend during which the warehouse is closed. What is the best action to take here? Should I inform HMRC ahead of time (maybe via CFSP COPE?), or perhaps the best course is to amend the SFD from bonded to free circulation instead? Or am I worrying too much as HMRC understand that circumstances sometimes mean there will be exceptions to this rule? Appreciate any guidance, thanks.
