Hi We have some employee's that have large credits in their childcare voucher account with our supplier. We have been asked if an employee can be refunded these vouchers as they are no longer needed. Our supplier has advised that as these are salary sacrifice, we would need to make a refund to ensure that tax and NI is deducted correctly. My question is are we able to refund these in the current tax year, regardless of when the vouchers were sacrificed from pay. It might mean that some employees technically may pay less tax & NI in this year than in a previous year due to circumstance changes? Thanks Emma

Hi
You would just refund this in the form of normal pay through the payroll at the time of payment.
Thankyou.
Regards.
