Hi, I receive income from a personal pension scheme in drawdown and don't normally have to complete a self assessment tax form because income tax is deducted at source. However, on 17 March 2022 I received a company car bought through my limited company and incurred a small benefit-in-kind liability for the period 17 March to 5 April 2022. As the car is an EV, this works out at only £30.70 for the financial year ending 5 April 2022 which in theory means I owe tax of £12.28 (I am a higher rate tax payer). Do I need to submit a self assessment tax form for this small amount of income?

Hi Miles,

You do not need to submit a Self Assessment tax return for this.

Thank you.
