When completing my self assessment I entered the full value of my company car and when the return completes it shows the full value as benefits and expenses received which is taxed at the higher rate and not just BIK. Have I simply not ticked a box somehere?

Hi James McBeth,
You would enter the company car benefit as shown on the P11d provided by your employer.
On your calculation the benefit will be part of your income and if this takes you into the higher rate of tax then 40% tax will be due.
Thank you.
