Bizarre Tax Demand

I am a retired teacher who does a bit of writing. I paid my January tax (£600) a few weeks ago. I had a letter today saying that I owe £725,000 for next year, with the first instalment of £242,000 payable a week ago.- WHAT? I spent an hour on hold on the phone but never got picked up. Chris Craggs
